This villa was built for year-round living on a hill, on the grounds of an old manor house. The client wished for a modern structure with a natural, close-to-earth feeling and minimal details. Each space also maintains a connection with the surrounding national park.
The buildings consist of separate living quarters and a sauna structure that are connected by a glass-canopied summer kitchen and patio. A wrap-around deck juts out from the structures, creating the sensation of a floating building.
The tall main building combines space for cooking, dining, and relaxing. Television viewing does not compete with the fireplace in the living room, but was set apart in a loft built on top of the bedrooms, with space for guest accommodation in addition to the media equipment.
